Hello
Hi, I'm Kate and I'm the PT and swimming teacher at Breathe Swimming and Fitness. I've always been super passionate about all things swimming and fitness - so here we are!
I have been a competitive swimmer since I was eight - and it's been my obsession ever since. I started my working life off as a lifeguard and then joined the Air Force - this military training is the basis of the Bootcamps we run here, they are all designed around the actual training military forces undertake. I was also the Ladies Captain of the RAF Swimming Team, representing the UK Armed Forces in competitions overseas for 6 years.
After moving to Australia, during my university years, I trained a s a teacher with Austswim, training in Teaching Water Safety (Swimming Teacher) and Pre-School and Infant Aquatics. Over the last 13 years I have gained teaching experience with everyone from babies, children learning to swim, squad swimmers, older adults, and people with special requirements across the state in multiple swimming schools and The Dept. of Education.
After my children were born I decided I wanted to turn my life long passion into my career and Breathe Swimming and Fitness was created. I completed my Certificate III and IV in Fitness and Personal Training and started Breathe Swimming and Fitness up almost immediately. This had now turned into a successful business and I couldn't be happier!
Frustrated with the lack of support and options for Mums and Mums-to-be, generic same-old-same-old, over-crowded swimming lessons, I decided to do something about it. I qualified as a Pre and Post-Natal trainer so if you are expecting or are post-natal, your personalised programs will keep you safe and prepare you and your body to return to exercise.
Exercise as medicine has always fascinated me which led me to qualify as a Cancer Exercise Specialist through The CETI (The Cancer Exercise Training Institute) which is a global leader in cancer exercise training, and Arthritis and Osteoporosis through Arthritis Australia.
Exercise has so many benefits for people conditions such as pregnancy, arthritis, Osteoporosis and cancer (see each individual page for specific, proven benefits).
At Breathe Swimming and Fitness, I believe in a fun, positive, friendly, encouraging and supportive environment and it is important that this special atmosphere is a permanent fixture for all our clients.

I qualified as a Master Trainer in 2021 and have been helping people reach their goals ever since. Classes are highly personalised, private or in small groups and take into account clients’ goals, likes, dislikes and any injuries etc.
In 2012, I qualified as a swimming teacher with the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Water Safety and Pre-school Aquatics. I have taught swimming ever since, teaching babies, toddlers, children, adults, and swimmers with special needs. I have also trained squad level swimmers at various swimming clubs across SA. I then undertook more training with ASCTA to further develop my teaching skills.
