Pre & Post-Natal Fitness

*It is essential that you get your GP’s approval before starting any exercise program. Please call or email and paperwork can be provided to you.

Regularly working out when pregnant reduces the risk of back pain, incontinence, excessive weight gain, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, pre-term birth, C-section, postpartum depression, and enhances postpartum recovery (Galbraith 2021).

Post-Natal classes can aid in post-birth recovery and help with any birthing issues you may experience. Your PT will ensure you are doing the correct exercises the right way, and are avoiding those that will cause more damage.

Training under a specialist trainer will help you maintain strength and aerobic fitness throughout and after your pregnancy safely.

Why is it important to have a specially trained PT during and after pregnancy?

A properly trained pre/post-natal Personal Trainer understands the changes your body is going through and knows what exercises should and should not be performed and at the correct intensity (Da Silva et al. 2020).

Everybody’s pregnancy and birth is different – and many side effects can be made worse by certain exercises. A trained Pre/Post-natal trainer understands what is happening to your body and knows how to help.
